Single Parent Family Fund

We at Beit Asaph are greatly blessed by the Lord. We have wonderful people! And we are all trying to be "family" for each other. We are people with different backgrounds, different stories, different languages - but the same love for the Lord. Many of the members of Beit Asaph are new immigrants from the former Soviet Union. Among these eleven single mothers, either abandoned or divorced. The Israeli social security system is not bad, but it is definitely not sufficient to provide a good and worthy life style for single parent families.

Far more than money, these women and their children need to know that someone cares; to feel they are not alone in the everyday battles of life in Israel. We don't want to see the children of single parent families be deprived in any way, or to be punished for something that is no fault of their own.

Beit Asaph is looking to develop a special ministry within the congregation, so that fatherless children will not feel fatherless, and women without husbands will have additional security in their lives provided through the Body of Messiah.

All financial help is provided under pastoral direction and counseling. All subsidies are designated to specific categories in order to avoid development of dependencies.

The fund is divided into several categories:

1. Subsidy of school expenses and extracurricular activities (clubs, additional classes, tutoring and travel to those activities).
2. Subsidy for participation of the children from the single parent families in the messianic camps, conferences and field trips.
3. Subsidy for professional family counseling, our messianic psychological help.
4. Subsidy for professional education and Hebrew studies for the mothers.
5. Monthly food packages (when necessary).
6. Emergency crisis support.

The fund is designed to help the single parent families attain the same life style as families with two working parents.
