Meet the Living Stones

Living Stones"Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord's hand double for all her sins." Isaiah 40:1,2

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:3

Beit Asaph has a longstanding vision for the physically handicapped. For several years, the congregation has provided support and service to a number of disabled people living in a local institution who have found Yeshua as Redeemer and Lord. Volunteers from the congregation help provide transport, friendship, teaching and coordination with care organizations to improve living conditions for these brethren.

More than twenty years ago a precious gift was placed in the hands of Beit Asaph. This gift came in the form of a physically disabled woman called R. Through her history of precious relationships with helpers from the believing community R. has continued to love the scriptures and has remained a faithful witness of Messiah, leading many to faith in Him.

The life of Beit Asaph changed as it faced the complex challenge of fellowship with the disabled. The lessons were manifold; the call to sacrificial service; victory through suffering; and of course, the hard lessons regarding absolute dependency upon God. Through R.'s testimony many Israelis, both disabled and fully able came to a personal knowledge of salvation through Messiah. They have benefited much from the generous help provided by donors from all over the world. Because of this help, we have been able to purchase a special vehicle with wheelchair lift for the transport needs of these members.

Our disabled brethren all attend Beit Asaph but live in a government sponsored institution, with many restrictions because of their open profession of faith. All of them suffer from limited family support, so that the role of the messianic congregation is all the more important for their well-being. Your help together with that of Beit Asaph can greatly improve the quality of life for these special folk and will provide a means of outreach to those with who they are in contact. On behalf of R. and her friends, we are very grateful.
